// Candice Hunter Corby has over 20 years of experience in the C-suite. She was the youngest ever CFO of a Scripps Howard newspaper at age 26 and has held numerous CEO, CFO, and COO positions throughout her career. She has extensive law firm experience running some of the largest global firms including Baker & McKenzie, Mayer Brown, and Godwin Gruber. Candice was named CEO of Cobra in 2010 and continues to serve in this capacity. Under Candice’s leadership Cobra has received numerous awards including: The Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists (ACEDS) “Service Provider of the Year” and The Oil & Gas Awards “Best International Document Review Provider” 2016. In 2017 Clutch identified Cobra as a top 2 World-Wide Back Office and BPO firm for Legal Outsourcing out of top contenders from around the world.
Aside from leading her team at Cobra, Candice is deeply motivated to be a great global citizen, focusing on social responsibility around the world, including: being a prior board member of the Andy Roddick Foundation and Zach Theatre, running marathons with Team Livestrong to raise money for cancer patients, providing bottled water to the homeless with I Am Waters Foundation, and supporting Rising Star Outreach for children effected by leprosy in India.
Candice holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from UA Little Rock and is a certified public accountant.
// Renee Meisel brings two decades of leadership and expertise to Cobra. Renee has built a career translating complicated, multi-stakeholder legal and operational issues into efficient, repeatable processes in large international legal departments. Renee spent eleven years at Dell working in a variety of capacities, including Legal Director of the eDiscovery team, legal counsel to the Global Security Organization, and Senior Director on the Legal Strategy and Operations team specializing in contracts management and spend and matter management. Most recently, Renee headed up Legal Operations for a global investment firm. She has worked in a wide variety of legal areas, including patent litigation, products liability, regulatory matters, internal investigations, information governance, eDiscovery, and cyber governance and incident response. Renee is a published author, cybersecurity expert and frequent speaker at numerous eDiscovery conferences.
Renee is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and achieved dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma in French & English Literature. Renee resides in Austin, Texas with her family.
// Doug joined Cobra with over 20 years of experience in the legal industry spanning four continents. Mr. Kaminski specializes in helping organizations of all types and sizes understand and implement processes along with technologies to enable complex legal workflows resulting in the generation of maximum quality, predictability, scale, cost reduction, and ROI. A frequent speaker and published author, Mr. Kaminski brings to the Cobra team deep experience in the legal technology and services industry, having held leadership positions at Relativity, Symantec, Clearwell Systems, Wolters Kluwer, LexisNexis, and Huron Consulting Group (now Consilio).
Doug is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Detroit Bar Association, Technology Advisor to the Seventh Circuit eDiscovery Pilot Program, a Fellow of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance, Co-Chair of ACEDS Chicago chapter, and a Director for the Society for Corporate Governance in Chicago.
As Cobra’s Executive Vice President of Legal Transformation, Ms. Mazzone brings to Cobra clients her wealth of experience, knowledge and deeply-rooted connections within the field of legal practice management, including legal operations, litigation readiness, eDiscovery and information governance, knowledge management, and technology innovation. Under her leadership, Cobra’s Legal Transformation team will assist any legal department or law firm in assessing its needs and goals, and strategically and efficiently planning and executing process, organizational and technology improvements.
Before joining the Cobra team, Ms. Mazzone was a Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments, serving for ten years as a Deputy General Counsel and then for several years as a chief operating officer in Fidelity’s Asset Management business. As the company’s expert counsel on discovery and case management, she designed, built and directed a team of internal, seconded, and external lawyers, paralegals, and litigation technology professionals who partnered with in-house and outside counsel to improve speed and accuracy of fact-finding while reducing cost and business disruption across the litigation and regulatory/internal investigation portfolio. The “eco-system” they created brought down costs by an average $12 million per year over her tenure, and included new technology platforms, a spectrum of global service providers, improved protocols and use of data analytics to improve decision-making and case planning.
At the same time, she served as counsel and advisor on department planning, strategy and budget, matter management and billing technology and process, and vendor management. Ms. Mazzone founded NEXTLegal, an in-house innovation initiative to rethink and modernize legal department practices and technology. Through NEXTLegal, she and her team designed and implemented significant process and organizational changes after conducting a full activity/capability analysis of the department. She also designed a Legal Knowledge Management program.
Before Fidelity, Ms. Mazzone was a partner at the law firm of Foley Hoag LLP, specializing in accounting and fraud defense, government investigations and commercial litigation. She managed a team of dozens of associates and legal professionals in one of the largest corporate fraud cases in history. Before Foley, Martha practiced at Latham & Watkins in Washington, DC, specializing in health care fraud defense and government investigations.
A graduate of Harvard University and the University of Maryland School of Law, Ms. Mazzone worked in a number of roles in child welfare and juvenile justice before taking up the practice of law. She worked for the states of Maryland and Massachusetts, including serving as policy advisor in the Office of the Governor of Maryland and chief of staff to the Director of Maryland’s Department of Social Services. While attending law school at night, she served as Deputy Director for US Chapters for Special Olympics International.
She is a frequent lecturer and panelist on litigation readiness, discovery, and legal operations, and has published numerous articles on these topics. Ms. Mazzone is a member of the bars of Massachusetts, Maryland and Washington DC. She serves as chairperson of Massachusetts Appleseed Center for Law and Justice and as Trustee on the Boards of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE), Inc. and Greater Boston Legal Services.
// Sakthi manages day-to-day operations and support services of Cobra in India. Prior to working at Cobra, he was the Director of the Legal and Transaction processing unit of OfficeTiger, a large professional outsourcing company in India. Sakthi was a key member in this department since its inception to growing into a 500-member team in four years. He has also worked at NIIT and Tata Consultancy services.
Operations management, client engagement, implementation of service deliverables, creation and oversight of quality control processes and corporate sales account management are some of his areas of expertise. He serves on the Board of Directors for Rising Star Outreach of India. Sakthivel is a science graduate from the University of Madras and holds a master’s degree in business administration and business law from NLSIU. He is a certified black belt in 6 sigma and lean management system. He is recognized and certified by the Forum of Free Enterprise (FFE) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Sakthi is an avid speaker at various outsourcing conferences and educational institutions including Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), NIT, IIT MADRAS and JSN School of Management. He works for the equality for women in India by reaching out to women’s schools and college in Tamil Nadu. Some of the grass root level topics include women rights, women empowerment, sexual harassment, physical abuse at work place and institutions (with the help of women help group FICC FLO). He also serves Tamil Nadu differently abled federation for their development and equal opportunity.
// Thandapani is responsible for maintaining Cobra’s IT infrastructure and data security. His scope of work encompasses planning, organizing, staff management, maintenance and support of network, server, data communications and telecommunication systems. His areas of expertise include implementation, analysis, optimization, troubleshooting, and documentation of LAN/WAN network systems. He is a Cisco and Microsoft certified professional. Thandapani has nearly four years of experience as a project coordinator at RR Donnelley Global Business Process Outsourcing (in India), which includes one year of onsite tenure. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Madras.
// Mahesh Krishnan is responsible for the continuous improvement of Cobra’s operational processes. He is a key member of the project planning and execution wing, playing a critical role in the delivery of client projects. Mahesh has over twelve years of experience in the outsourcing industry, including extensive experience in business process management – primarily in the fields of paralegal operations and transaction processing for litigation claims (including securities litigation cases and mass tort/consumer litigation).
Mahesh has also worked in project management and business improvement, business development, pre-sales, and customer satisfaction indexes. He is certified in Business Continuity Management (BS25999 standards) and has worked on Six Sigma quality standards. His employment track record includes RR Donnelley Global Business Process Outsourcing, IBM Global Services India, and TATA Info Media. Mahesh holds a master’s degree in business administration from Symbiosis Institute and a degree in commerce from the Bharathiyar University.
