Technology Infrastructure

Data security and confidentiality of our client's documents receive the highest level of consideration by Cobra.  We fully understand our responsibility to enforce strict standards to ensure that the documents reviewed by Cobra attorneys are secure and safeguarded through a combination of technology and policy standards.

Cobra takes a two-tiered approach to data security by implementing security measures at both the database level in conjunction with the hosting vendor and at the local level through network and PC security at our facility.   We work very closely with the vendor providing document hosting services to establish appropriate database security levels.   For matters requiring the most stringent security, we will work with our clients to choose a database/review platform that can provide additional layers of security including encryption, folder and field-level security, added login/password security through RSA cards and other measures, if necessary.    In addition, part of our standard approach to planning for a review is to thoroughly review and understand the server security, data redundancy and disaster recovery measures in place by the hosting vendor.  Our top priority is ensure a seamless and secure environment for our client's documents to be managed and reviewed for the lifecycle of their case.

At the local level, Cobra utilizes industry-standard security at the network and PC level to restrict access to documents except for the purpose of reviewing and making database designations on documents in the hosted environment.   To this end, our attorneys do not have the capability to print or take screenshots of documents.   They are also restricted in their use of e-mail except for working internally on the Cobra network and they do not have access to the web or to any internet-based e-mail system.   Further restrictions are enforced regarding access to cell phones and removable storage devices in our facility.  Our attorneys understand these strict measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of our client's documents is an essential component to providing the highest level of professionalism in our document review services.

Cobra has invested in state-of-the art technology to make document review as efficient as possible.   Our attorney reviewers use high-end workstations with dual flatscreen monitors that provide an optimal environment for online review of electronic documents.  Supplementing our working relationship with Kumaran Systems, Cobra also employs dedicated IT staff to address the local needs of our attorneys and to also work directly with our U.S. staff to ensure that Cobra's U.S. operations, our clients and our facility in India can leverage technology to create a seamless work environment for our client's critical projects.
