Cobra’s Founders and Investors not only provide unprecedented leadership and depth of experience to legal process outsourcing but also are closely involved with the oversight, management and growth of Cobra.  The Founders and Investors include:

John L. Douglas is the global head of the bank regulatory practice for Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, and practices from the Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA offices. His practice spans complex transactions, difficult regulatory situations and complex litigation. He served as General Counsel of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from 1987 until 1989, a period of unprecedented stress on the financial system. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, a non-profit organization formed to assist former state-controlled economies develop banking and capital market systems. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Banking Law Section of the Federal Bar Association, and is a member of the Financial Markets Tribunal of the Dubai International Financial Center. He was recently named to the BTI consulting group’s “Client All-Star Team”, a group of 113 attorneys nationwide identified as delivering the best client service to Fortune 1000 clients. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Davidson College and his JD degree from the University of Georgia. John resides in Norcross, GA.

F. Dean Copeland retired from Unum Group, the largest disability insurance company in the U.S. in 2005 after eight years. He was Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer and served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Provident Companies, Inc. for two years before its merger with Unum Corporation. He was responsible for the following functions: law, human resources, corporate audit, facilities management, government relations, compliance, ethics and privacy. For 30 years prior to leaving private law firm practice, he was an associate and then partner at Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC, practicing in the securities, corporate, mergers and acquisitions and financial institutions areas, and specializing in corporate governance and advising boards of directors. He served as Chair of the Corporate and Banking Section of the State Bar of Georgia and is a member of the American Law Institute. Prior to private practice, he served in the U.S. Army as Adjutant of The Judge Advocate General’s School, Charlottesville, VA. He is a graduate of Yale Law School, University of Oxford, Oxford, England and University of Mississippi. Dean’s permanent residence is in Atlanta, GA, and he also spends time in Alexandria, VA.

Keith O. Cowan is the President of Strategic Planning and Corporate Initiatives of Sprint Nextel Corporation, a position he has held since July 2007. He previously was Executive Vice President of Genuine Parts Company from January to July 2007, prior to which he spent over ten years with BellSouth Corporation in various roles including Chief Planning and Development Officer, President - Marketing and Product Management and Chief Field Operations Officer. Prior to joining BellSouth, he was a partner at Alston & Bird LLP, where he worked from 1982 to 1996. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from University of North Carolina and his JD degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.  Keith resides in Atlanta, GA and Reston, VA.

Dow N. “Kip” Kirkpatrick II retired from Alston & Bird’s Litigation and Trial Practice Group in December 2006. He has over 35 years of jury trial experience as lead trial counsel in state and federal courts throughout the U.S. He has extensive experience with the litigation of complex product liability and environmental cases, including a wide range of pharmaceutical and chemical product cases. He has also defended catastrophic personal injury cases and has experience in a wide variety of commercial disputes. He has been recognized in “The Best Lawyers in America” and as a “Georgia Super Lawyer”.  He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and has served on its Board of Governors. He has also been active during his legal career in the International Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Old War Horse Lawyers Club. He received his BA from Emory University and his JD degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. Prior to joining Alston & Bird LLP in 1972, he served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Newell Edenfield, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia. Kip resides in Atlanta, GA.

Cantwell F. (“Chuck”) Muckenfuss III is a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Washington, DC where he focuses on the representation of financial institutions in complex matters. Before joining the firm in 1981, Mr. Muckenfuss was Senior Deputy Comptroller for policy at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Special Assistant to the Director and Counsel to the Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He is a founder, member and past Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of City First Bank of DC, a community development bank in Washington, DC. He is also a Clinical Visiting Lecturer at Yale Law School and Chairman of the Board of City First Enterprises, Inc., the non-profit controlling shareholder of City First Bank. He received his BA from Vanderbilt University and his JD degree from Yale Law School. Chuck resides in Chevy Chase, MD with his wife Angela Lancaster.

Mark N. Templeton worked as an Engagement Manager for the New York, SanFrancisco, and Washington, DC offices of McKinsey & Company; as Special Assistant and Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor in the U.S. Department of State; and a Financial Analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co., among other positions. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School and is a member of the California bar.

Kumaran Systems Pvt., Ltd. represented by Mohan Subramanyam, President and co-founder of Kumaran Systems, is a software company located at Tidel Park, Block A, Chennai, India. Kumaran Systems is a trusted partner who provides in-kind support to facilitate Cobra India's operations. As technology partner and adviser, Kumaran Systems provides secure space at their facility in Tidel Park, IT and telecommunications support, administrative and related service, guidance and advice regarding operating in India.

Charles C. Miller IIICharles C. (“Buddy”) Miller III (Board Member, Investor) is Executive Vice President and former Vice Chairman of the Board of Level 3 Communications. Prior to joining Level 3, he worked at BellSouth where his most recent was position was President of BellSouth International. Prior to joining BellSouth, he practiced law at King & Spalding LLP.

Terry O. TottenhamTerry O. Tottenham (Board Member, Investor) is Partner-in-Charge of the Austin, TX office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P where he heads up the firm-wide pharmaceutical and medical device litigation practice group.  A partner at Fulbright since 1978, he regularly gives speeches to lawyers, physicians and other health care providers across the United States.  He received his B.S. from the University of Texas and his JD from the University of Texas School of Law.
